This item does NOT have a matte board. It is mounted on a backer board ready to frame with a frame that comes with its own matte board.

Snow Goose or Snow Geese, with baby blue water and a slightly grey blue sky, depicts an scene that is straight out of my imagination. It is a realistic scene that pops as the black tips on the wings of the bird pop against the sky and water. It is representative of a painting which was more intentional. Nature lovers and outdoors enthusiasts love to enjoy this type of scene.

This painting was inspired by a family story of capturing a snow goose thinking we were saving someone’s farm animal. Only for the snow goose to fly away the first time it had a chance. It was a true wild goose chase story.

The vibrant green tones in the trees gives a feeling of a lovely day, and is an interesting part of this image. The baby blue water provides an element of surprise.

When I completed this series of watercolor paintings I did a slightly Gestalt approach. I randomly painted 12 backgrounds and then made some blotches of contrasting color and then came back a third time to add enough detail to give the piece some detail. It was an experiment to help me learn to paint more loosely.

There is a beauty in nature that seems to evolve even when, as an artist, I am less intentional and do not start with any clear vision of where the piece of art will go.
