Vancouver Art Gallery for 3D

Featuring 3D Art in Vancouver – Art Gallery for 3D Art

Comprised of multiple layers of glass or high definition acrylic, mixed media, organic findings, and opaque and translucent pigments.

Vancouver Art gallery featuring 3D art that entices the viewer to enter the multiple layers, shades and textures to connect with the transformative interpretation of the subject matter. It provides intrigue and encourages dialogue and conversation.

3D art elicits an emotional response as the viewer enters the creative space of the artist to experience creative exploration and experience a range of emotion from excitement to calmness and from connection to nature or the subject matter to solitude or self-discovery.

The layers of the art prove to draw the viewer into the artwork, for an experiential relationship with the piece.

There are a wide variety of Vancouver art galleries ranging from public to private and with a wide range of topics, genres and artists. This website is a privately owned website, featuring Kristi’s art. We may consider having guest artists in the future.  The goal is first and foremost to connect with art lovers in the Vancouver area.

Abstract Art

Abstract art does not represent an accurate depiction of visual reality, communicating instead through lines, shapes, colors, forms and gestural marks.

The neutral color piece is an example of a 3D Abstract. It is both abstract and the 3D effect created using multiple layers (numerous surfaces) brings shadows and dimension.

Unfortunately the 2d aspect of photography and online images does not render a realistic sense of what 3D does in this or other 3D pieces of art. To be fully enjoyed it is necessary to see my transformational interpretations in real life.

The Example on orange image is an abstract on a Canvas. It is not 3D.  Abstract can range from slight abstraction to fully abstract where the interpretation is completely in the hands of the viewer.  Sometimes I like to do abstracts as a way of expanding my vision of art.

Abstract art may be suggestive or overly simplified, leaving more room for imagination in the mind of the viewer.

Abstract Selection

The portfolio pages are provided to give examples of my abstract art. While we strive to update the website regularly, the best way to check the available inventory is to visit the Shop

As an Artist, Kristi enjoys variety and working in various mediums. Working in watercolor gives an opportunity to explore subjects outside her studio – Plein air painting or for an opportunity to go back to the basics of watercolor painting techniques.

Living in Vancouver, it is hard to run out of inspiration for Plien air painting locations. Nature and our surroundings in Vancouver lend themselves to art of all types, from sunsets, to ocean views, to flowers and fauna, city scapes, mountain views and almost everything in between. Watercolor is a medium that lends itself well to softer, calming colors and rustic scenes. However, watercolor offers a opportunity to create a transformational interpretation connecting the artist and the art lover.

Watercolor can also be used when working with Mixed Mediums.  Watercolor can be used for abstracts and for realism. Watercolor is often softer than acrylic. When used in a background of a 3D piece it can offer a sense of distance or expanded horizons.

Experimenting with watercolor techniques gives rise to exploring additional techniques for her 3D art. The background layer of a 3D may be watercolor or acrylic or other types of pigments, depending on the desire to create a more opaque, or a more translucent background.

Buying Vancouver art gallery art from artistsAcrylic on canvas pieces typically on 16 x 20 canvasses.

Acrylic on canvas is a medium most artists practice at one point or another.  Acrylic lends itself to many different genres from landscapes to portrayal of animals. I enjoy doing landscapes, sunsets, cityscapes, buildings, underwater scenery and a wide variety of nature inspired topics.

Kristi is moving away from doing acrylic on canvas as the concept of 3D is so much more rewarding. That said, sometimes it is nice to get back to the basics and do a few acrylic on canvas pieces.
