Is there anyone who has not suffered from Octopus envy? Particularly in the days when I have minded children – be they my children or my grandchildren, I have wished I was an octopus.
Oh, how much easier life would be if I had eight hands. Not only can those arms wrap around things they have suction cups to help grip onto things. Moreover, Octopuses’ sucker-covered arms can act independently as if each tentacle has its own independent brain. Each arm is able to gather sensory information without having to consult the major regions of the brain.
How cool is that? I want to be an amphibious octopus.
