Destinations is a 3 Dimensional portrayal of Downtown, Residential and Oceanside. The high-rises and houses, and other items are 3D. It is embellished with natural findings, to connect with nature in a palpable way evoking emotion and a sense of calm.
To me this depicts the beauty of living in any ocean side city. Proximity to downtown – the culture and pulse of the city, with the residential area hiding nearby, and the beach close by for moments of relaxation, is having it all. In this 3D work, as you change viewing positions, you see the houses peeking through the trees.
The multiple layers of glass and/or high definition acrylic are individually painted and textured with numerous techniques drawing the viewer into the scene. The 3D characteristics of this piece of art set it apart – so much more than any art on a single canvas, the multiple layers cast shadows that shift as the lighting in your room changes, or as you move to a different position to look at the art from another angle.
